What happens when design ambition meets one of nature’s most breathtaking backdrops? At Hensley Event Resources, we’re known for turning bold visions into unforgettable experiences and this Lake Tahoe wedding was the perfect example.

In collaboration with top planner Jenn Robirds Events, we transformed the 17th Green at Edgewood Tahoe into a luxury celebration space, anchored by our exclusive Atrium structure. The result was a one-day destination wedding that felt like it was floating above the water, an immersive, high-impact design that blended seamlessly into the mountain landscape while delivering all the comforts of a luxury venue.

A Floating Wedding Venue Built From the Ground Up

The couple envisioned an event that felt open, modern, and deeply connected to nature. Enter The Atrium by Hensley Event Resources our signature transparent structure measuring 18M x 35M, featuring a soaring 12M center and 3M wings on each side. With its carbon grey metal frame and floor-to-ceiling clear panels, The Atrium offered guests 360° views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevadas while protecting them from the elements.

The effect was dramatic, yet refined: as day turned to night, the entire structure glowed from within, a jewel-like pavilion suspended between sky, water, and forest.

“The Atrium isn’t just a tent, it’s an experience. It elevates the ordinary into the extraordinary.”

Custom Fabrication Meets Natural Beauty

Our team worked closely with Jenn Robirds Events to design custom elements that would match the scale and beauty of the site:

  • A warm subfloor wrapped in faux sisal for natural texture and comfort

  • Our signature Grace Slated Oval Bar, hand-painted with sculptural wood detailing

  • Custom curved dining tables that maximized guest flow and lakefront views

  • A custom-built stage and scenic velvet backdrop, designed to match the tent’s architecture

  • A painted chuppah using our Grace Pavilion, perfectly positioned to frame the lake during the ceremony

All items were fabricated in-house by Hensley and installed by a dedicated crew of 14 over four days.

The Challenges of Building at the Edge of a Lake

Executing a build of this scale in a remote location came with logistical hurdles:

  • Equipment had to be transported across an active golf course, without disrupting play

  • Crew accommodations, transportation, and timing were coordinated from our San Francisco headquarters

  • The entire setup was completed in just four days, with a full breakdown in three

These are the kinds of challenges we thrive on, and why planners across California trust Hensley for high-stakes, high-impact events.

A Guest Experience That Felt Like a Dream

Guests arrived through a path lined with pine trees and stepped into The Atrium, where clear walls framed the lake, and the soft sound of water met luxurious lighting and velvet textures. The couple exchanged vows beneath our Grace Pavilion with the lake stretching behind them, and dined at custom tables beneath the soaring central structure.

As sunset lit the sky, the space transformed into an ambient glass-like palace, offering guests the rare experience of feeling both completely immersed in nature and entirely cared for.
